I am so excited to link up with Natalie Synders so that you can get to know me and your other favorite online SLP’s!
Who am I?
Hi Everyone, My name is Jennifer Getch and like most SLP’s I wear many hats! I am a wife to an awesome superhero-ish man, mom to two amazing and also superhero-ish kids. My main job is running a private practice in Vancouver, WA. I also blog over at NW Speech Therapy Blog and I am one of the co-founders of Speechtivities– an online marketplace for SLP’s to buy, sell and share self made materials. This is my 11th year as an SLP. I graduated with my Bachelors and Masters from The Ohio State University! Go Buckeyes!! I still feel like a newbie to TPT and the world of blogging. I am inspired daily by other online SLP’s to keep creating and sharing materials with the masses so I am gearing up for some great things this year!
What do I offer?
I believe in versatility. Having to buy something that you can use with only a couple of kids or a single population has always seemed a waste to me. Being in private practice we see the gamut of ages and disorders. I like to create materials that have a little of everything and can be used in a variety of ways. I also like to provide options especially when it comes to being kind on printer ink! I have a solid background in MANY different areas and specialize in areas that you don’t often see materials for on TPT so I am really excited about some of the products that I have in the works.
My Dream Job is?
I am lucky enough to say that I am in my dream job. Running my own private practice was what I wanted from the very start of school. It is what I always saw myself doing. I have had to take on more of the management type duties as of late due to the fact that we have grown in the number of therapists that we contract with however, I love it all. I wouldn’t change a thing. The business side of things excites me just as much as seeing and working with kids does. I am a problem solver and running a business provides you with a constant problem to solve. 🙂
Three of my favorite things!
My family is a given so I will give you 3 others: Chai tea (preferably in a “for here” cup with soy milk from Starbucks-trust me it always tastes better in a “for here” cup), the beach (my favorite place to relax and think) and Pinterest (I am a certified Pinterest addict)!
Who else should you know!
I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about me but don’t stop here. Head to Natalie Snyder’s blog to get to know other awesome online SLP’s.
