It’s that time of year when lights are going up, Christmas trees are being decorated, the weather is getting colder and kids are getting ready for Santa. I love this time of year. It is also a fun time of year for my clients. They love when I bring out activities that are Christmas themed. I think it reminds them that Christmas break is right around the corner. I work on final sounds with a number of my clients and thought that it would be fun to “Christmas-ize” a final sound activity that I use often in therapy.
There are 9 cards each for the final sounds b,m,t,p (36 cards total) as well as a matching final sounds pacing board for each final sound.
It can be paired with any game as well as memory or go fish as they each have a matching pair.
The pacing boards have a spot to put the card and then the student can tap out the first part of the word on the snowman ex. (ba) and the final sound on the square ex. (t) for “bat”. Pacing boards significantly increase the students awareness of the final sounds and helps to ensure that they are marking it.
